At the 62nd session held on 29 June 2023, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Decree on the Procedure for Preparing the Draft Development Plan of the Republic of Serbia.
This Decree prescribes in more detail the procedure for the preparation of the Draft Development Plan of the Republic of Serbia and the procedure for reporting on the implementation of the Development Plan, as the umbrella and most strategically important document of development planning adopted by the National Assembly for a 10 year period.
The Decree establishes the method of managing the process of the Development Plan preparation, through the establishment of a body that will include representatives of all stakeholders, in order to propose the country’s priority development goals projects through the cooperation of representatives of state bodies, autonomous provinces, local self-government units, businesses, civil society organizations, and the academic community. In addition, considering the importance of the document and its long-term impact on the economic development, as well as the society as a whole and each individual, the conducting a consultative process in a widely participatory and transparent manner is prescribed as an obligation.
The Decree stipulates that special attention should be paid to balanced regional development, as well as development planning in accordance with The 2030 Agenda.
The draft Decree was prepared and proposed by the Public Policy Secretariat.
