Within the project “Public policy development and analysis”, 23 lifelong learning courses in the field of public policy analysis were designed and delivered at three universities: the University of Novi Sad, the University of Belgrade, and the University of Niš. These courses were developed in response to the need to strengthen analytical capacities in the public sector, as well as to address the absence of an academic program necessary for high-quality work in the fields of public policy development, management, and coordination.

Short-cycle interdisciplinary programs were created as a result of curriculum development, as well as capacity building of universities and other stakeholders in the public and private sectors. The participants of these courses included postgraduate students and employees from both the private and public sectors. Civil servants who attended the courses represent future drivers of change within a modernized public administration focused on improving citizens’ quality of life and the services provided. In addition to the developed training programs, the project also prepared and published textbooks, created the “Public policy development and analysis” portal, and established a network of experts in the field of public policy management and coordination.

The achievement of project results involved partners from the Republic of Serbia. In addition to the Universities of Novi Sad, Belgrade, and Niš, contributions were made by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Public Policy Secretariat, Human Resources Management Service, the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, the Foundation for the Advancement of Economics, and the SeConS Development Initiative Group. International partners included King’s College London (United Kingdom), Paris-Est Créteil University (France), Leiden University (the Netherlands), and LA 27E Region (France).
