On 19 September, within 120th anniversary from the first permanent exhibition of the Ethnographic Museum, a panel was held to present the pilot project MUSEUMS4YOU, a unified map for four Belgrade museums, developed by the Public Policy Secretariat Group for Innovations in Public Policies with the Ethnographic Museum, the Museum of Yugoslavia, the Natural History Museum and the Museum of Science and Technology.

Ms. Sanja Mešanović, PPS Deputy Director participated in the panel and spoke about the importance of creating innovations in public policies and about their implementation. She emphasized that solutions must be created to meet the needs of end users, i.e. citizens, to secure efficient services of public administration. She particularly emphasized the needs of the growing number of foreign tourists, as well as to new generations of local users, whose habits and experiences deviate from the behavioural patterns of older generations.

Purchasing a combined Museums4You ticket allows visitors to enter four Belgrade museums at a more favourable price of RSD 1,440 which is a 10% savings compared to individual tickets. The ticket is available for online purchase, easily downloadable to a mobile phone, which makes it easier to plan visits for both local and foreign tourists. It can be used for visits to the Ethnographic Museum, the Museum of the History of Yugoslavia, the Museum of Science and Technology and the Museum of Natural History. Digital system allows for easy QR code reading at the entrances, without tickets printing.

This initiative is the result of the application of the Design Thinking methodology that puts the user at the centre of the solution creation process. Analysing the visitor needs and the use of innovative approaches resulted in designing of the unified map to provide visitors with easier access to cultural content and improve the overall experience of visiting museums.

The pilot project was carried out within the framework of the project “Support to the Public Administration Reform” supported by the German Development Cooperation, implemented by GIZ in Serbia.
