The Public Policy Secretariat and the Student Association for International Cooperation in a dialogue on the youth development perspective in state administration

On 2 November 2022, the students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade visited the Public Policy Secretariat to get to know about the PPS’ work, competences, powers and organizational structure.

The PPS Director, Bojana Tošić, emphasized the importance of inclusion of the young people of various fields of expertise in the work of the state administration. The need to upgrade the acquired theoretical knowledge at the faculty through internship in state institutions was particularly emphasized. The cooperation of all stakeholders in the process of drafting regulations is necessary in order to achieve optimal decisions, said Director Bojana Tošić.

The method of operation and functioning of all organizational units within the PPS and their role in improving the planning system in the Republic of Serbia were presented. Regulatory impact assessment and the harmonisation of regulations with public policy documents in order to ensure their quality are of high importance in the planning system, said Ninoslav Kekić, PPS Assistant Director.

Specific practical examples that the PPS employees face are presented, and this will additionally contribute to the students’ understanding of the broader picture of the functioning of the state administration. In the final part of the dialogue, the PPS representatives answered to the questions raised by the visiting students.

The event was realized as one of the activities within the project “Get to know legal institutions the regula(to)r(y) way” in 2022.
