The conference on competitiveness in the Republic of Serbia, with a special focus on digitalisation was held on 19 October 2023 at the Hyatt Hotel. At the conference, achievements, obstacles and future course of action towards implementation of digital transformation were presented. Apart from digitalization, the agenda also included topics such as the business environment, skills, green connectivity and infrastructure. All these areas make an integral part of the publication “Competitiveness in Southeast Europe 2024” scheduled for publishing in July 2024.
The second session was moderated by the PPS Deputy Director, Sanja Mešanović. In her address, she emphasized the importance of the publication produced by the OECD in the context of defining national structural reforms and public policies. The use of relevant information from this publication provides insight in better understanding of the regional aspect through comparison with the neighbouring countries and the exchange of experience. The importance of making decisions based on adequate data was also pointed out. From the PPS perspective, the horizontal scope of digitalisation and the benefits it has for the economy and citizens are particularly highlighted. The PPS’s contribution to the digitalization process is mostly reflected through eKonsultacije as a mechanism for transparent creation of public policies and the Register of Administrative Procedure which contains all procedures carried out by public administration bodies for citizens and the businesses. In addition to the PPS Deputy Director Sanja Mešanović, members of the OECD team Martin Kohtze, Ali-Fuad Turgut and Marijana Petrović, SORS Assistant Director Dušan Gavrilović and representatives of relevant ministries took part in this session.
