In December 2021, the Government of the Republic of Serbia launched the “e-Consultations” portal as part of efforts to increase transparency in the legislative process and the process of adopting public policy documents.
How much has this portal contributed to improving Serbia’s position on the UN Transparency Index, and how much has it helped engage the public in the regulatory creation process?
Bojana Tošić, Director of the Public Policy Secretariat , states that the “e-Consultations” portal has contributed to greater transparency by positioning Serbia in a high 20th place worldwide. It has also enabled citizens, businesses, and associations to participate easily in the consultation process.
“On the other hand, it was created to allow public administration bodies to involve the interested public in the policy and regulatory creation process from the very beginning in a simple and efficient way,” says Bojana Tošić.
